Thoughts behind ARARAR

It all begins with an idea. A thought.

In my case, an observation from an introvert, an architect, a creative mind who wants to convey a message but is bad with words. Someone who is passionate about the world around him, passionate about the arts, about technology and the built environment, passionate about people who are creatives to their bones. Passionate about sharing my perspective of the things I see and the things I love and how I see the arts intertwining with technology, but having a hard time when social media dominates the scene in a performative business oriented model; a quantitative versus qualitative thing in my opinion.

This, by all means is fair and ok, but I’m simply not aligned with that vision and values. While I understand that platforms like these in the end are all about making business one way or another, I decided to invest in my own space where I could speak my mind and open a dialogue with, hopefully, others that might be interested in what is shared here.

Ideally, ARARAR.news will be a way of seeing a small portion of what’s happening in the artistic scene in Mexico City (and other places eventually 🤞🏽). It will serve as a fun and simple way of documenting and reviewing imaginative proposals, ideally it will be a source of inspiration for other creators and hopefully a way to connect with artists out there, that want to share what their journey looks and feels like & what they’re working on.

Finally, as a last thought, I’m also very passionate about languages and connecting with other humans in as many ways as possible. I think that’s where ARARAR comes in. ARchitecture and ARts in general are their own idioms, substitutes of the things that can’t be said but only perceived and interpreted by the spectator. And now, with Augmented Reality, we have a new way of expressing, of sharing and seeing the world around us. Another layer of information that hopefully can be of good use in the future ahead of us, but to me, also a way of capturing and archiving moments of space and time, that will never be the same.

The interaction between these, to me, is beautiful.

It’s a testament of our times, and only time will tell how this will evolve and age. I cannot wait to see what’s next!
